The beach is covered with atypically large white limestone pebbles. This peculiar, intense white color of strand is rarely seen in the Adriatic
Rukavac is a fishing village and port on the south side of the island. It used to be a typical fishing village, but today, after the towns of Vis and Komiža, it is the largest settlement on the island, and one of the most attractive tourist destinations on the island of Vis, that among other things, offers quality accommodation.
In Rukavac you will also find several restaurants and a basketball court, and fresh fish is available almost every day.
There are two pebble beaches in Rukavac: Stori Rukovac and Tepluš, while Bili bok is formed from a series of flat stone terraced plates, a favourite beach for nudists.
In the vicinity of the Rukavac bay, there is a famous Srebrena beach, a natural, pebble beach that is one of the most beautiful beaches in Dalmatia.
In front of Rukavac, there are several smaller islands suitable for daily trips, and we’d certainly like to mention the islet Ravnik with a natural phenomenon, the Green Cave.
Location: Rukavac iz at 9 km distance from Vis, and at about 17 km from Komiža.
