Stončica is a settlement on the eastern side of the island, gravitating to the town of Vis. It is located in a bay on which cape is a lighthouse of the same name, built in 1865. In the bay there is a lovely sandy beach, surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean vegetation and the crystal clear sea
Stončica is a charming, secluded cove, a great choice during the summer, all of pebbles and fine sand. The bottom of the beach has a gentle slope, up to 30 meters from the coast, the sea level reaches barely to the waist, making it ideal for children and non-swimmers, who find it difficult to cope with the deeper sea, so it is extremely suitable for family trips. Stončica can be reached by road from Vis or Komiža, and you have plenty of parking space in front of the beach. From the parking lot, you can arrive to the beach by the footpath, in just a few minutes’ walk.
On the beach, there is a restaurant with attractive ambience, offering excellent gourmet specialities and a rich selection of drinks and quality wine. For all active vacation lovers, there is also a beach volleyball court.
Location: Stončica is at 9 km distance from the town of Vis, and about 20 km from Komiža.
Beach type: sand – pebble, suitable for young children.
